money journey spellbook
One thing lighting me up lately is creating a little spellbook just for my money journey.
Money has been one of my biggest challenges + biggest teachers in this lifetime. Historically I’ve been an overworker + underearner, choosing work that is fulfilling, but not necessarily financially rewarding.
I did a lot of money work in 2018, around the time I started my business. I knew things needed to shift within me if I was going to break these tired old patterns. It was a beautiful foundation + radically shifted me from a mindset of scarcity to one of abundance.
My financial situation has changed since then and the universe has been asking me to go deeper with this work. Living in abundance is beautiful, but now it’s time to learn how to be a good steward of money, how to grow it, build wealth, and prepare for the future.
And I tell you this work is fraught. When finance bros start to talk percentages and yields and mutual funds this and capital gains that, I glaze over and leave my body.
The story I’ve told myself is that my brain just doesn’t work that way. But the truth is I haven’t really tried that hard to learn it. I’ve done anything + everything to avoid it.
But the time is now. And as per usual the universe hasn’t left me hanging. In addition to asking me to do the big scary thing, she’s also sprinkled teachers and guides along my path.
A friend mentioned @tobemagnetic and I started listening to the @expandedpodcast and realized - oh these women speak my language. Because it’s couched in spirituality and manifestation, my brain doesn’t automatically shut down when they also start talking about investments and high yield savings. I joined their money challenge and much of what you see in my spellbook here is from that (including long journal entries tucked away in those little glassine envelopes).
I’m also loving @dow.janes and @financialfeministpodcast - taking notes on their information, tucking it away in my spellbook.
And I tell you that adding a crafting + beauty + magic element to the money journey has been paradigm shifting. I used to dread money work. Now I actually look forward to it. Diving deep, casting spells, taking aligned action.
