vison spells

Visions spells. This is a practice I learned from @hannahmarcotti and I am in love.

Vision board meets spell book.

Casting vision spells for my inner landscape. For my home. For my body. For my finances. For my work life and work space. For my recreation. For retreat. For travel. For community. For space. For time. For abundance.

In these pages, time collapses. I see my past selves show up. I meet my future selves. We co-create. We play.

There are words and there are images. Numbers, textiles and found objects. Envelopes and pockets full of treasure.

The class was 30 days and it’s over now. But the practice continues. And I am making space for it. I bought a fuzzy rug on Facebook marketplace for my studio so I can sit on the floor surrounded by my little piles and create my vision spells. Currently manifesting the perfect two-tiered round coffee table. But in the meantime, an old crate will do.

It has been revelatory. There is something about the ongoingness of it that has allowed me to sink deeper into myself than I have when I’ve attempted vision boards in the past. Each page holds a piece of the puzzle. The book form feels intimate and personal, like sacred space.

While Hannah’s class was filled with beautiful stories and prompts (and I will certainly share it with you if/when she holds it again), this is totally something you can do on your own. Grab an old book or journal, a glue stick or double stick tape, magazines, feathers, found object, fabric scraps, ribbons, old photos, whatever strikes your fancy, and let your pages reveal themselves to you.
