This 34 inch beaded necklace features 7 mm garnet beads with their gorgeous wine-colored hue, and finished with a 1.75 inch black terracotta Munachi love amulet.

made in Bolivia, the Munachi amulet is used to cast love + sex spells. 'muna' means desire. 'chi' means to cause to happen. the figures are positioned embracing head-to-head and heart-to-heart, symbolizing connection in body, mind, and soul. traditionally, a love spell is cast by wrapping the hairs from each of the lovers around the necks or through the loop of the munachi, then buried in the ground or placed in a sacred space near the bed. alternately it can be used, as it is here, in sacred adornment, which can either be kept to call in your love, or gifted to your love to keep them devoted.

Strange Love is my unconventional little ode to love. Not the saccharine sweet or simplified love that we are inundated with imagery of around this time of year. But different forms of love and love in all of its beautiful complexity and nuance.
